The random thoughts and rantings of a recent college graduate, muddling through life, trying to find my place and discovering I'm flypaper for freaks!...

Sarah Rocks!!!

I got this picture in my email this morning from Sarah. At first I thought, wow a picture of George Eads...he has a new girl...oh wait thats ME!!! Hey I had just woken up, I was still a little groggy. Anyway this picture completely made my day.

Isn't he dreamy ::sigh::

Its official

Mexican Wave
Well its official...I passed all my courses ::HUGE sigh of relief!:: I officially have a college degree. I just squeeked by on my research methods class, but I don't really care, cause that class was freakin rediculous. Last Saturday I went out to a nice dinner (not a fast food place!) with my parents, my auntie Gail and uncle Vel to the Villiage Inn in Albion. Awesome food, and good wine. I think my sister was jealous, she made a couple remarks of that nature to my dad, but she could have come if she had gotten a babysitter.

I've handed in several resumes already, mostly to the Hillside Family of Agencies, and St. Joseph's Villa. I'm also applying at Johnson & Johnson, they have several openings for people with science experience. Next week I'm going down to city hall to find out about applying for an evidence tech with the Rochester Police Dept. On top of that I posted my resume on Monster.com, I don't know what good it will do for the field I want to go into, but it can't hurt any.

New Blog

Ok, so I have created a new blog, but not for the sake of blogging (I know that doesn't make sense!). I now have an edublog, and will only be using that for career purposes. I have linked it to this blog, but again, I won't be posting regularly on it, but check it out if you like, if anyone has any comments or suggestions I'd love to hear them! I guess thats it for today...

I'm a college graduate!!!!

Graduation was yesterday at noon. Luckily it didn't rain, the sun actually came up before we came onto the field. Although we all started roasting on the field, wearing black gowns and mortarboard caps. My mom and my sister actually got sunburned. The Ceremony lasted till 3, but it really didn't seem that long. The president and key speaker kept their speeches short. The longest part was calling 1300 names. I shook the presidents hand, was welcomed to the Alumni, and received my diploma cover. Afterwards I met back up with my family (that was hard, there were so many people it was insane! The entire arena was full!). My dad gave me a bouquet of red roses, had my picture taken with various members of the family, and then headed home to change. We then went out to dinner, my brother-in-law and the boys joining us.

After dinner we came back to the house for cake and gifts. I got a bunch of balloons from my dad (Joshua loved the balloons and the cake, he kept wishing me happy birthday! He was a little confused lol). I got a ipod shuffle from my sister and Steve, my parents gave me a check for $500, 2 picture frames that are also bookends, and a willow tree figurine of an angle girl holding a star, with the title "bright star". It was wonderful day, one that I won't forget; it was awesome walking with the rest of the class of '06 to pomp and circumstance onto the field. I felt like I really accomplished something. Now I just need a job!

I'm Done!!

I took my last final today (for Criminology). I knew quite a bit, but at the same time there were serveral questions that I know I got wrong, and those that I just guessed on. So it can go either way. That was a difficult course for me. For those who haven't taken Criminology, its a study of theories that can explain crime, and why people become criminals. There are so many theories it is hard to keep them all straight. I already got my grade for Forensic Computing; a B+, so I'm thrilled with that. I'm just worried about Criminology and Research Methods.

Tomorrow is the big day. I'm excited but I'm nervous at the same time, I'm not really sure why, I have nothing to be nervous about. People always talk about what a crappy school Brockport is, but I liked it. I'm not going to miss the classes, or the homework, but in a way it is sad, cause I'll miss the campus and the people.

One more to go

So I've taken two of my three finals. Research Methods was brutal, I'd compare it to the 7th ring of hell. He never gave us a study guide. So no one knew what was going to be covered and we had no clue as to the layout of the exam. Then there is the fact that he's from China, and you can't understand a word he is saying! As it turns out there were eight short answer questions, half of which he never talked about in class. I'm praying for a miracle, but luckily he grades on a gigantic curve. Last night was my Forensic Law exam, I'm really going to miss that class, the professor was awesome. It was pretty easy. Just multiple choice on trace evidence and firearms, along with a little essay question, I think I did pretty well. Now there is only one more to go, and that is Criminology on Friday. I can't wait till this is all over, and I can catch up on some sleep!

Did someone say margarita?!

You Are a Strawberry Margarita

You're so sweet it's a little overwhelming, and people are a little afraid of corrupting you...
It's a little difficult to imagine you with a margarita. And you're truly a different person after you've kicked back a couple!

Latest Happenings

I had my last class ever on Thursday. The class was Forensic Computing, and was completly lame. I drove all the way out to Brockport for a total of 10 minutes. The professor was suppose to give us our papers back, have us fill out evaluations and take our last quiz. Well he forgot to post the study guide online, so he announced that he was giving us all 100's for our quiz grade (Awesome!). Next weeks I have 3 finals then I'm completly done!
Celebrating
Yesterday I had to go to a staff training day for work out in Spencerport. I dreaded going, but it turned out to be fun. I mean the lady talking to us from 9-4 was boring, but hangin with the girls (outside of the library setting was fun). My Aunt was there from a neighboring library, so I got to hangout with her for a little bit and talk. We spent a lot of time goofing off, and we got paid for it! We had to make these name tags using a sheet that was given to us based on our initials. It was really weird, but mine ended up being Pinky Liverchunks. Cathy's name was awesome and very fitting to her, Buttercup Pottytush. Hmmm, I think I may have change my blog name now...

Flaming Mad

Before I go off on my rant, Joshua is now home form the hopital where he has stayed for the last 3 night. Although the doctors still do not know what he has.

There is exactly 2 more days of actual classes left, a total of 6 days till our group's final project is due. This is the project where we need to create a computer model of an arson case. I had a bunch of sites and information bookmarked on my browser. Something happened to it all last night. I came home from babysitting, and started my firefox browser. Everything had been reset, my bookmarks are all gone, as well as everything that had been saved. I don't care that I lost all personal websites and stuff, I can get that back. However I cannot get the project info back. Karen came over this afternoon to try and retreive the info, but its gone. Now we have to start all over again for the 2nd time and at the end of the semester no less. It is official, I'm stressed beyond belief.

Worried & Exhausted!

I woke up this morning to the sounds of Matthew singing over the baby monitor at 5:00am. I went to bed early at 10, had to get up and feed him at 2:30am. Needless to say I got about an hour of solid sleep. My sister called from the hospital this morning. There have been no changes. At about 2am he spiked to a fever of 105 again. She came home this afternoon to grab some more clothes since they are keeping him at the hospital for another night. He won't eat, or drink so the poor boy is hooked up to a bunch of IV's. He has his own private room, complete with a huge Infectious Disease sign on the door. The results from the tests are not back yet and probably won't be for another day. In the mean time he can't be exposed to any other children till they figure out what he has.

My sister came home around noon, which gave me enough time to go home, take a shower, change clothes and head back out the door to school. My family is taking shifts watching Matthew, I'll probably have to spend the night again. As much as I love my nephew I'm not really looking forward to it. Anyone who knows me knows I value my sleep! Plus with it being the last week of classes I'm stressing about papers and group projects that are not done yet.
